Both grills running at once — the full experience
Munich has a real hot pot scene. These are the things that are specific to MuWu — all of them checkable on this page.
Most places do one or the other. Here the pot and the grill are both built into your table, and the Combo runs both at once for 42,90 €.
It is part of the Hot Pot and BBQ price, not a surcharge. Starters, warm wok dishes, salads, fried rice, spring rolls and dessert.
Thinly sliced beef, lamb and pork · Sichuan pepper chicken wings · shrimp, squid, prawns and scallops · tofu, mushrooms, bok choy and lotus root · hand-pulled and glass noodles. Ordered from your seat, as often as you like.
Paul-Heyse-Straße 29, in Ludwigsvorstadt. Close to Theresienwiese and Goetheplatz too.
The beef and chicken for the BBQ come from Emin Fleisch GmbH in Munich — a halal-certified butcher about a kilometre from here.
Booking is recommended for evenings, weekends and groups — but you can also just come in when there is space.
Larger groups and company dinners usually fit. Events and catering can be arranged separately.
No queueing with a plate. You order from your seat and it comes to the table.
Hot Pot, BBQ, both, or the Chinese buffet on its own. Everyone at the table chooses for themselves.
For Hot Pot: several broths, from mild bone stock to Sichuan mala. Split pots available so one table can have two.
Over 50 fresh ingredients — beef, lamb and pork, chicken wings, shrimp, squid, prawns, scallops, tofu, mushrooms, bok choy, lotus root and noodles. Order again whenever you want more.
The Chinese buffet runs alongside: starters, hot wok dishes, salads, fried rice, spring rolls and dessert.

Being straight about this saves everyone a conversation at the table.

Yes. There is no minimum party size — Hot Pot, BBQ and the Combo can each be taken by a single guest at the same per-person price.
Both, and they run together. Hot Pot and BBQ are cooked at your own table and you order the ingredients as often as you like; the Chinese buffet is a self-service counter that comes with them. You can also take the buffet on its own.
Yes for the ingredients — tofu, mushrooms, leafy greens, vegetables, noodles and dumplings are all on the list, and the Chinese buffet carries vegetarian dishes. For the broths, ask the staff when you order: the range runs from mild bone to herbal mushroom to Sichuan mala, and they will tell you which one suits you.
The beef and chicken for the BBQ come from Emin Fleisch GmbH in Munich, which is halal-certified. We also serve pork, though, and the grill, tongs and buffet are shared — so the restaurant itself is not halal. If you observe strictly, you should know that before you come.
No — MuWu is Chinese. The BBQ is Chinese tableside grilling and the hot pot is Chinese, including Sichuan-style broths. The format will feel familiar if you know Korean BBQ, but the seasoning, broths and dishes are Chinese.
